[1] MONDAY NIGHT SKATE, BASEL

[2] PARI ROLLER, PARIS
Free and open to proficient skaters, Pari Roller meets every Friday at Place Raoul Dautry in the 14th arrondissement. The route is different every week, stretches over 30km, and is posted on their site first, usually Thursdays.WWW.PARI-ROLLER.COM

[3] FRIDAY NIGHT SKATING, BUDAPEST
The Hungarian capital’s evening skate event was inspired by London’s rally, though this one is on a smaller scale. Skaters meet on a semi-regular basis at Deák tér in the centre.WWW.NIGHTSKATING.HU

[4] FRIDAY NIGHT SKATE, COPENHAGEN
Denmark’s occasional city skate event takes place every second Friday in the summer, and more infrequently in the weeks preceding. Check the site for the 15–20km route through the streets of Copenhagen. The group departs from beside the Metro station in Kongens Nytorv at about 8pm; again, details are online. WWW.FNS-CPH.DK

[5] APB FRIDAY SKATE, BARCELONA
This free, marshalled skate starts each Friday at 10.30pm in front of Baja Beach Club, close to Vila Olimpica. The route is 14– 18km long and not too tough. WWW.PATINAR-BCN.ORG

[6] FRIDAY NIGHT SKATING, VIENNA

[7] THE FRIDAY NIGHT SKATE, LONDON
This weekly, marshalled skate around the English capital is free and open to all who can stop, turn and skate at a medium pace. It starts at 8pm at the Duke of Wellington Arch, Hyde Park Corner and is divided into beginners and veterans. WWW.THEFNS.COM

[8] TUESDAY NIGHT SKATE, FRANKFURT
This midweek skate event returns after its winter break on 1 April. Skaters meet at 8.30pm for a 35–42km course, then stagger to a bar to swap tales with other bladers. HTTP://T-N-S.DE

[9] BLADE NIGHT, MUNICH
Though it claims to draw the largest crowd of skaters in Europe, Munich’s Monday night mass skate only takes place in summer. The first event is scheduled for the end of April. If you’re in Bavaria, check the site for details. WWW.MUENCHNERBLADENIGHT.DE

[10] ROLLING TOWN, TOULON
More than 1,000 local skaters meet up for this rally, held on the first Friday of each month. Bring your blades to the place de la Liberté at Toulon’s centre, at around 6pm to warm up, in preparation for an 8pm departure. WWW.ROLLINGTOWN.COM
